The Opportunity This role is ideal for someone who understands the building approvals and certification process and enjoys working closely with clients, consultants and internal project teams.
You will act as the key point of contact throughout the approvals and construction process, ensuring permits, inspections and certificates are obtained and managed efficiently from project commencement through to final completion. The successful candidate will come from either a residential building company or a building certification consultancy and have a strong understanding of the end-to-end approvals process.
Key Responsibilities - Manage building approvals, permits and certification requirements from start to finish.
- Coordinate building applications, inspections and compliance documentation.
- Liaise with clients, certifiers, consultants, councils and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor project milestones and approval timeframes.
- Track outstanding certificates, permits and compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Provide regular updates to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with resolving approval and compliance-related issues.
- Ensure projects progress efficiently through all stages of the approval process.
Essential Requirements - Previous experience working for a residential builder or building certification consultancy.
- Strong understanding of building permits, approvals and certification processes.
- Experience managing projects through to final certification and completion.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- High attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and project management systems.
Highly Regarded - Experience liaising with councils, certifiers and consultants.
- Knowledge of Queensland building approval processes.
- Experience within residential construction or development.
