Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Carpenter who will be responsible for a variety of carpentry duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in carpentry, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and a keen eye for detail. You will play a vital role in the construction of structures and installations, ensuring high standards of quality and precision.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Study and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures for construction projects.
• Select and procure appropriate timbers and materials, preparing accurate layouts for construction.
• Cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials to form structural components, including frameworks, roof framing, sub-flooring, and floorboards.
• Erect and install framework, external wall cladding, and roof structures in accordance with project specifications.
• Install and fit door and window frames, ensuring proper alignment, functionality, and secure installation.
• Accurately cut and shape wood joints to ensure strong, durable connections between structural components.
• Construct and install concrete formwork as required for specific projects, ensuring precision and stability.
• Perform repair and renovation tasks, including replacing damaged components and restoring fixtures.
• Work with materials such as plastic laminates, Perspex, and metals in various installations.
• Adhere to safety regulations and building codes, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

 

Experience & Qualifications

• Formal Qualifications in carpentry, such as a Certificate III in Carpentry.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a qualified Carpenter, preferably in residential or commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent carpentry skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
