Diesel Mechanic - Afternoon Shift

Smith & Co is proud to partner with a well-established civil contractor operating across Southeast Queensland. With a strong reputation in earthmoving, mining support services, and heavy vehicle transport, they’re now looking to bring an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Diesel Fitter into their growing maintenance team in the Logan region.

Position Details:

• Pay Range: $55 Per Hour + Penalties And Overtime 
• Roster: Monday to Friday, 4:00pm to 12:30am
• Location: Crestmead 
• Type: Full-Time Permanent Role – no casual period
• Workshop: Modern setup with 20+ trucks, trailers, and machinery in the fleet

Key Responsibilities:

• Service, maintain, and repair a fleet of machinery, trucks, and trailers
• Perform diagnostics and fault-finding across diesel systems
• Work closely with a tight-knit workshop team
• Assist with breakdown repairs and general mechanical maintenance

About You:

• Trade qualified Diesel Fitter (Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Technology or equivalent)
• At least 2+ years of post trade experience with heavy vehicle maintenance
• Confident with diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Full working rights in Australia

Bonus skills (not essential but highly regarded):

• HR Truck Licence
• Forklift Ticket (HRW Licence)
• Air-con or welding experience
