About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Asset Packaging Machines production team as a Welder / Fabricator. On a typical day you will operate as part of a team in our fast paced and developing shop floor, working with small to mid-sized organisations to manufacture bespoke volumetric filling machines for their production lines. Tasks include fabricating and welding for our machinery in accordance with approved weld procedures and drawings, ensuring quality finishes on our premium products.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Perform welding tasks primarily using TIG and STICK techniques on stainless steel (main material)

·        Ensure all welds are completed with quality craftsmanship, meeting industry standards and client specifications

·        Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications to ensure accurate project execution

·        Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a safe, clean working environment. Solid understanding about HSE (Health Safety and Environmental)

·        Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient production schedules

·        Inspect welded joints for defects and perform necessary repairs

·        Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition

Requirements:

·        A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in stainless steel welding.

·        Australian recognized trade qualification

·        Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and techniques

·        Able to use bending machine, guillotine, vertical drill, etc

·        Extensive hands-on experience with TIG and STICK welding processes. Mainly installation of structural/piping projects

·        Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols

·        In-depth knowledge of welding materials, mainly stainless steel 

·        Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

·        Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot welding issues

·        Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines

·        Attention to detail and commitment to quality

·        Maintain a clean and organized work environment

·        Physical ability to lift and handle materials as needed

·        Forklift license not essential, but an advantage
