Butler Building is a family run custom residential building company based in the Hunter Region, specialising in high end architectural homes, renovations and bespoke projects.

Established in 2018, we’ve built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional craftsmanship, innovative construction solutions and homes that truly stand out. Our work has been recognised across the industry, including winning HIA Hunter Home of the Year in 2021 & 2025.

We pride ourselves on running projects and a workplace that people genuinely enjoy being part of. We value respect, communication, attention to detail and creating a positive environment for both our team and clients.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join our team.

  • Coordinating materials and ensuring site productivity

  • Maintaining high quality workmanship across all stages

  • Communicating professionally with clients, suppliers and trades

  • Ensuring sites remain clean, organised and safe

  • Assisting with problem solving and keeping projects moving efficiently

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have:

  • Minimum 6 years experience working as a qualified carpenter

  • Strong knowledge of residential construction

  • Ability to confidently run sections of a project independently

  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

  • Positive attitude and team first mentality

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to mentor apprentices and younger team members

  • White Card

  • Current Driver Licence

What We Offer

  • Work on high end architectural residential projects

  • Positive team culture with a supportive environment

  • Long term career opportunity with a growing company

  • Variety of interesting and challenging projects

  • Opportunity to be part of an award winning building company

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience
