About the role
Tucasa Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Foreman/Carpenter to join our growing team on the Central Coast, NSW. This is a full-time position that combines hands-on carpentry expertise with supervisory responsibilities. You will play a crucial leadership role on site, overseeing construction activities, managing teams, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This position is integral to our operations, directly impacting project success and client satisfaction.
What you'll be doing
Supervise and coordinate construction teams on site, ensuring all work meets safety standards, quality requirements, and project timelines
Perform hands-on carpentry work, including framing, finishing, and structural carpentry tasks
Inspect work quality and ensure compliance with building codes, specifications, and contractual requirements
Manage materials, equipment, and resources to minimise waste and optimise project efficiency
Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members regarding progress, challenges, and solutions
Conduct daily toolbox talks and inductions to promote a strong safety culture on site
Identify and resolve site-based issues proactively, escalating complex matters when necessary
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, timesheets, and site documentation
Train and mentor junior carpenters and tradespeople, fostering skill development within the team
What we're looking for
Proven carpentry qualifications or extensive hands-on carpentry experience in residential or commercial construction
Demonstrated supervisory or foreman experience on construction projects
Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction best practices
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams
Proficiency in reading architectural plans, specifications, and technical drawings
Problem-solving abilities and the capability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
White Card (Construction Induction) or ability to acquire prior to commencement
Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport
A commitment to health and safety excellence and zero-incident work practices
Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour consistently
