About the company

Our client is a Western Australian owned and operated commercial builder that has been delivering quality projects for close to 40 years. They are an established Tier 2 builder with genuine breadth across the sectors that matter: apartments and mixed-use, health and aged care, education, commercial and industrial, and public buildings. As a pre-qualified State Government builder with a strong reputation and repeat clients, they have the standing and the secured pipeline to back it.

Much of the current book is multi-residential apartment work, a good portion of it behind government backed Early Contractor Involvement, with five priced and agreed contracts already locked away and several more at pricing stage. This is real, funded work with genuine continuity, not a pipeline of maybes.

The order book runs from a $15m apartment build right through to a $90m flagship project, so there is scope here for the right person at the right level.

The role

We are looking for a Senior/Site Manager to join the team and run quality multi-residential projects.

You will not be thrown in cold. To start, you will work alongside the existing site team on live projects to learn how the business operates and find your feet. You will also provide site coverage when the team is short across holidays or sick leave, so you get a feel for how they run quickly. As new projects come online, the plan is to move you onto your own job to run.

It is a deliberately softer landing. It lets you settle into the way the business operates before you take the reins, and gives you the best possible chance of hitting the ground running on your own project.

What they are looking for

Our client is open on experience and will match the project to the person. A heavy hitter with strong tenure on larger, complex builds could step onto the $90m project. Someone earlier in their site management career, or experienced on lower value work, would be set up on a $15m apartment build to establish themselves.

To be considered you will have:

• Demonstrable Site Management experience on multi-residential or commercial building projects
• Good tenure across your previous roles (they value stability, not job hoppers)
• The discipline and attention to detail to run a job to a high standard on programme, quality and safety
• The ability to lead subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel and hold a daily and weekly rhythm

They are open at a few levels:

• Senior Site Manager - a strong operator ready to run a major, complex apartment project
• Mid-level Site Manager - experienced and ready to step up onto their own job as projects come online
• Up and coming - a candidate experienced on lower value projects, ready to grow into larger projects
