Leading Hand Carpenter

• Temporary Contract with the potential for permanent employment
• Salary/Hour Rate: $50-55 Flat Rate + Super
• Preferred Start Date: ASAP
• Location: Sunshine Coast

The Company

Our client is a commercial builder, with particular experience in apartment developments and local, state and government facilities. They've built everything from offices to mining accommodation; childcare centres and aged care facilities; to university buildings, sporting complexes and police stations. Our client specialises in schools and education, as well as construction in remote and challenging locations. They are currently seeking a leading hand to assist them on an education project. The right candidate will have the opportunity to grow within the company, and work towards progression into a permanent role.

Duties

• Providing day-to-day direction, supervision, and management of on-site trades.
• Directing and endorsing policy to fulfil objectives and achieve specific goals
• Reporting to and assisting the site manager.
• Provide hands-on assistance where required.
• Monitor on-site compliance and safety, including assisting with inductions and reviewing SWMS.

Experience and Licences Required

• Trade Qualification and background in Carpentry.
• QBCC Supervisor Licence (Desired but not essential)
• Prior commercial structures experience as a leading hand on commercial projects - in particular, government projects
• Have a thorough knowledge of the drawings, specifications, and quality requirements for all site-related activities
• Good communication skills
• Ability to be hands-on with proven leadership skills
• Attention to detail
• Strong sense of teamwork
• Proven ability to constantly deliver high quality construction projects within budget and programme constraints.
