Are you passionate about preparing nutritious meals for young children? We are seeking a Casual Early Childhood Cook to support various services around Canberra. This flexible role allows you to work across multiple early childhood settings, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate. You’ll enjoy creating balanced meals while contributing to a caring and supportive environment.

About the Role:

• Support early childhood services around the St George, Canterbury and Bankstown areas when their kitchen staff are unavailable or on leave
• Prepare nutritious, balanced meals suited to the developmental needs of young children
• Adapt quickly to different early childhood kitchen environments
• Manage rotating menus that cater to various dietary guidelines and specific needs (e.g., allergies, intolerances)
• Strictly adhere to food safety and hygiene protocols
• Confidently handle food for children with specific dietary needs (e.g., gluten-free, dairy-free, halal)

To Be Considered for This Role, You Will Need:

• Previous experience as a Chef, Cook, or in a similar role within early childhood settings or age care
• Food Handling Certification
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent culinary qualifications (not essential if you have experience in early childhood settings)
• A current and valid Working with Vulnerable People Card or the ability to obtain one
• Provide 2 relevant work references.
