We are seeking an experienced and motivated Refrigeration / Mechanical Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong HVAC and refrigeration design experience who is passionate about designing innovative, energy-efficient industrial solutions.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the design, engineering, and technical delivery of HVAC and refrigeration systems, with a strong focus on air handling units (AHUs), and water chillers. Working closely with project teams, clients, consultants, manufacturing, and purchasing, you will ensure designs are technically sound, compliant, cost-effective, and delivered on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Water Chillers, AHUs, and HVAC systems for a unique set of customers.

• Complete refrigeration engineering calculations, heat load calculations, ductwork design, equipment selection, and system specifications.

• Develop P&IDs, technical documentation, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

• Draft with Solidworks 2026.

• Ensure compliance with the NCC, Australian Standards, and project-specific requirements.

• Coordinate with electrical and mechanical disciplines.

• Provide technical support during project delivery, commissioning, and post-sale activities.

• Support business development activities through technical input for quotations and proposals.

• Work closely with purchasing and manufacturing teams to optimise design outcomes and project costs.

• Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum 3 years' experience in HVAC and refrigeration design.

• Strong experience in chilled water systems, HVACs, and AHUs.

• Sound understanding of HVAC load calculations, ductwork design, equipment selection, and system coordination.

• Experience delivering projects within commercial, industrial, or hazardous environments.

• Proficient in Solidworks.

• Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and budget performance.
