Automotive Sheetmetal & Plastics Designer

As we grow, we're looking for a talented CAD Designer to bring fresh thinking and technical expertise to our product design team.

The Role
We're seeking an experienced CAD Designer with a strong background in 3D plastics and sheet metal design. You'll play a key role in turning ideas into manufacturable products – from prototyping and testing through to production-ready designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and develop 3D models and detailed drawings using Onshape / Solidworks

• Design components for injection moulding, thermoforming, and sheet metal fabrication

• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimise designs for manufacturability

• Assist with prototyping, product testing, and continuous improvement

• Maintain BOMs, revision histories, and technical documentation

About You

• 3+ years of CAD design experience, ideally with a practical, workshop-based on manufacturing approach

• Proven experience working hands-on with prototyping, test-fitting parts,use of power hand tools and measuring instruments

• Proficiency in Onshape or SolidWorks CAD

• Strong knowledge of platics tooling and part design.

• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication techniques (bending, laser cutting, forming)

• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and a passion for great design
