ProjX is seeking an experienced Senior or Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team in Perth.
This is an opportunity to take on a key role within a well-established WA project delivery consultancy working across the mining, resources, industrial and infrastructure sectors. We are looking for someone who can provide strong technical and project delivery input, lead mechanical engineering activities, and work closely with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver practical project outcomes.
While this role is based in Perth, consideration will be given to regional based candidates. ProjX has a strong regional footprint and project presence across Australia, with offices also in Bunbury, Geraldton and Christmas Island, offering genuine variety and the chance to contribute across metro and regional work.

The Role
Depending on your experience level, you will operate in either a senior or lead capacity and will play an important role in the design, planning, coordination and delivery of mechanical engineering work across multiple projects. Your responsibilities are expected to include:
Leading or delivering mechanical engineering design and technical inputs across studies, design development and project delivery phases
Supporting the development of scopes, technical documentation, specifications and procurement packages
Coordinating with clients, vendors, contractors and internal project teams
Providing practical engineering advice with a strong focus on constructability, operability and fit-for-purpose outcomes
Supporting project delivery activities including design reviews, site interface, contractor coordination and technical problem solving
Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a collaborative engineering culture
For lead-level candidates, taking a stronger role in discipline leadership, client interface, quality oversight and team development
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a technically capable and commercially aware engineer who is comfortable working in a consulting and project delivery environment. You will ideally bring:
Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering
Solid experience in mechanical engineering within mining, resources, industrial or infrastructure projects
Demonstrated experience in design, design coordination, technical delivery and stakeholder interface
Sound understanding of relevant Australian Standards and engineering practices
Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with clients, contractors and project teams
A practical, solutions-focused approach
Australian working rights
For Senior level applicants, we are looking for a strong project contributor who can operate with a high level of independence.
For Lead level applicants, we are looking for a more experienced professional capable of taking ownership of discipline outcomes, providing leadership to others, and helping shape project delivery standards and client relationships.
