W & E Platt Pty Ltd are seeking a skilled design-oriented Engineer with expertise in Solid edge to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed Manufacturing drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation to support the manufacturing of specialized steel and sheet metal products. The role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders such as engineers and workshop personnel.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will:
Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models using SolidEdge software.
Generate Technical data packs to support manufacturing and assist the production teams to ensure designs meet technical requirements.
Support design tasks, contribute to design changes, and ensure updates are accurately documented.
Work closely with engineers and department managers to monitor quality, share specialist knowledge, and raise team competence,
Perform calculations, material selection, and tolerance analysis to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability
Review and refine existing designs for optimization and efficiency.
Provide mentorship and guidance to draughting team members.
Liaise with suppliers, and production teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Key requirements
Associate diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field.
A Minimum 5 years in mechanical drafting or related disciplines, with workshop and fabrication exposure with the ability to design and detail for manufacturing.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidEdge, SolidWorks) SolidEdge preferred.
Knowledge of material properties, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong level of initiative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Must be Australian Citizen
