Project Engineer - Rolling Stock (Mechanical)

We currently have multiple opportunities available for Mechanical / Project Engineers to support a range of rolling stock refurbishment, modification, reliability, and asset improvement projects within a major rail company. These roles will contribute to the delivery of projects across vehicle structural modifications, interior refresh programs, and mechanical system improvements.
  
Please note that these are 6 - 12-month contract roles with opportunity for extension working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for supporting rolling stock projects.
  
Roles and Responsibilities

• Support the development, design, implementation, and delivery of rolling stock mechanical and structural related projects
• Develop technical reports/documentation and engineering artefacts (e.g. Engineering Changes, Installation/Testing Procedures/Reports, Investigation Reports etc.)
• Provide technical support, advise, and guidance to internal teams
• Support inputs to Risk Assessments, FEA, FMECAs, FTAs etc.  
• Support with identifying and rectifying issues relating to modified/upgraded systems
• Liaise with suppliers, maintainers, operators, and engineering stakeholders to support delivery

  
Skills and Requirements

• Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Good understanding of rolling stock systems, including modification, refurbishment, maintenance, reliability, or asset improvement projects
• Good written and spoken English language skills including the ability to develop, update, and review technical documentation
