Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This hands-on role is responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of diesel-powered equipment and associated mechanical systems used across our marine operations.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Leading Hand and Operations Team to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and available for deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and Repairs

  • Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel generators, compressors, oxygen generators, pumps, and associated equipment.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, cooling, and electrical faults.

  • Conduct equipment inspections and identify maintenance requirements.

  • Complete breakdown repairs efficiently to minimise operational downtime.

  • Assist with equipment commissioning, testing, and mobilisation activities.

Equipment Reliability

  • Ensure all equipment is maintained to manufacturer specifications and company standards.

  • Monitor equipment performance and report recurring faults or reliability concerns.

  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation.

  • Assist with inventory management and spare parts control.

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow company safety procedures and safe work practices at all times.

  • Participate in toolbox meetings, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain a clean and organised workshop and work environment.

  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant legislation and company policies.

Operational Support

  • Assist with vessel and equipment mobilisation and demobilisation activities.

  • Support operational teams during maintenance shutdowns and emergency repairs.

  • Travel to project sites and marine facilities as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, or equivalent.

  • Experience servicing diesel engines and industrial equipment.

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.

  • Experience with generators, compressors, pumps, or marine equipment is highly regarded.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Requirements

  • Current Driver's Licence.

  • Forklift licence desirable.

  • Ability to work in marine and industrial environments.

  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours when required.

  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks.
