About the Role

We’re seeking a qualified and motivated professional to join our City Workshop team, servicing and maintaining a wide range of plant and equipment - from small plant and light vehicles to heavy trucks and earthmoving machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake day-to-day workshop operations
  • Service, repair and maintain Council plant & equipment
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines
  • Test run equipment and complete accurate job cards and reports
  • Work collaboratively with the Plant Supervisor, Leading Hand and contractors
  • Actively contribute to a strong safety-first culture

What We're looking for

  • Relevant Trade Certificate (Heavy Duty Mechanic)
  • Demonstrated experience with heavy trucks & earthmoving equipment
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Sound workshop knowledge across a broad range of plant
  • HR driver’s licence (essential)
  • Forklift & First Aid certificates (required)
  • Automotive Air Conditioning & Fire Suppressant Systems knowledge (desirable)
  • Current National Police Certificate
