Who are we?
Pirate Life started with three founders, a five-day drive across the Nullarbor, and a brewery in Adelaide. That was 2014. Since then we've built four venues across Australia, grown to a crew of over one hundred, and become one of the country's most recognisable craft brands.

Why Work with Us?
Pirate Life South Melbourne is a neighbourhood steakhouse and boozer with exceptional beer, bold food and good wine. Open, loud, smoky, exciting — an inclusive hospitality experience second to none and an extension of our love for high-energy dining.

Benefits:

  • Competitive wage reflective of experience and skill

  • Balanced rosters — work/life balance that's real, not just promised

  • Opportunities to represent Pirate Life at festivals and industry events

The Role:

We're looking for a Chef to join our South Melbourne team on a casual basis. You'll contribute to the day-to-day operation of the kitchen with a focus on high-quality food production and positive team culture.

Responsibilities include:

  • Food prep, cooking, plating and presentation

  • Working various kitchen sections including the fire oven

  • Maintaining stock and supplies

  • Upholding workplace safety standards

  • Contributing positively to the team and services

What You've Got:

  • Relevant kitchen experience with a genuine passion for food

  • Ability to deliver quality food consistently under pressure

  • A can-do attitude and strong team ethic

This is a casual position offering 20–30 hours per week across a Wednesday to Sunday roster, including nights and public holidays.

Interested? Hit apply and tell us why you want to join Pirate Life!
