Sea Legs Brewing are an independent Australian craft brewery & taproom that prides itself on quality, creativity, authenticity and community, stemming from the old adage of a good beer & food shared with good mates.
About The Opportunity
We are looking for a full-time Chef at our established Kangaroo Point Taproom. This industrial warehouse houses our 15 hectolitre brewhouse and 39,000L ferment capacity along with our kitchen and taproom.
This role is to be a key contributing team member in the daily execution of our Kangaroo Point kitchen operation as we execute an authentic and high quality, Modern North American menu that falls in line with our values. You will have the ability to work autonomously, while collaborating with the ownership, brewery, sales and marketing teams. The ideal candidate has the following relevant experience and skill set;
Proven experience in a similar role and similar sized venue (200+ pax)
A passion for the inner workings of a kitchen, our menu, the process and above all, quality
An interest in the brewing process, craft beer and our tight knit independent industry
Highly organised with strong leadership skills and the ability to develop and support kitchen staff
Experience with Modern American cuisine along with low and slow BBQ
A basic understanding of kitchen costs and rosters
Duties & Responsibilities include;
Effective and efficient day to day operation in the kitchen
Drive the consistent and quality execution of our menu
Understand and ensure timely communication of required maintenance
Ordering, costing, and inventory tracking
Work collaboratively with taproom, brewery, sales and marketing teams
Ensure compliance with all aspects of food safety requirements and general workplace health & safety
