Mons. O’Shea is a charming Irish pub and shop now open in Fremantle. This cosy local spot serves up live music, friendly service, and a great selection of drinks and meals. The attached shop features a variety of Irish merch, gifts, and food.
This role is ideal for a highly experienced Chef looking to take the next step in their culinary career. You’ll be instrumental in leading the kitchen team, ensuring smooth service, managing supplier relationships, and overseeing stock levels — all while helping to maintain a warm, welcoming environment for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in managing all kitchen operations
Lead and supervise kitchen staff during prep and service
Maintain consistent quality and presentation of all dishes
Manage inventory, stock control, and supplier orders
Ensure kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety compliance
Train and mentor junior team members
Support with menu planning and development
Help create a welcoming and efficient work environment
What we need from you:
Proven experience as a Chef in a fast-paced kitchen
Strong leadership and communication skills
Knowledge of stock control, food safety, and kitchen operations
Passion for food, creativity, and a strong attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly
A team-first attitude and commitment to quality
Education: Relevant Cooking / Chef qualifications. High School Diploma or equivalent. Food Handler Certificates are required prior to starting.
