Our Coffs Harbour location goes beyond the classic Oliver Brown experience — we run our own signature Brunch Menu and Chef’s Specials, offering guests a broader, seasonally inspired dining experience that reflects the creativity and passion of our kitchen team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director, this full-time position is an important part of our kitchen team. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation while contributing to the preparation and delivery of our Brunch Menu and Chef’s Specials.

Key Duties include:

o Assisting in the preparation and cooking of café meals, brunch items, desserts, and seasonal specials

o Supporting menu implementation, recipes, and daily food preparation tasks

o Assisting with the preparation of Chef’s Specials and ensuring dishes are presented to business standards

o Preparing, cooking, and plating high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and procedures

o Supporting smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods

o Assisting with food preparation, portioning, and kitchen organisation

o Monitoring food quality, freshness, and presentation standards

o Assisting with stock rotation, stock control, and storage of food supplies

o Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations and equipment

o Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS requirements

o Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils appropriately

o Assisting other kitchen staff and cooperating with team members to ensure efficient service

o Supporting kitchen operations for functions, events, and seasonal promotions

o Reporting kitchen or operational issues to the Director as required

Skills and Experience Required:

o Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery, OR a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience as a Cook

o At least 1 year of recent experience in a commercial kitchen environment

o Sound food preparation and cooking skills

o Experience in brunch, café, or all-day dining environments highly regarded

o Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards

o Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment

o Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
