About the role

CityWest KidsCafe in West Perth, WA is seeking an experienced Cafe Kitchen Cook and Barista to join our dynamic team. This is a casual role with flexible hours, making it an ideal opportunity for those seeking a work-life balance. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, high-quality meals and beverages for our cafe customers.

What you'll be doing

1. Prepare and cook a variety of cafe-style meals, snacks and treats using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients

2. Operate and maintain coffee machines to prepare a range of coffee beverages to a consistently high standard

3. Ensure kitchen and food preparation areas are kept clean, tidy and comply with all health and safety regulations

4. Assist with inventory management and restocking of supplies as needed

5. Provide exceptional customer service and a positive dining experience for all cafe patrons

6. Work collaboratively with the cafe team to support the overall operations of the business

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 1-2 years' experience as a café/restaurant cook or barista

2. Strong working knowledge of food preparation, coffee making and barista skills

3. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

4. Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills

5. Passion for creating delicious, high-quality food and beverages

6. Adaptable and able to work well both independently and as part of a team

7. Food safety and hygiene certification or willingness to obtain
