Bring your culinary skills to healthcare and make a real difference in delivering high quality patient meals at the Royal Adelaide Hospital

As a valued member of our team at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, you will make a direct impact on the patient experience by preparing and delivering meals that are safe, nutritious, and visually appealing. You'll work closely with kitchen and food services colleagues in a supportive, patient-focused environment

Position Details

  • Full-time role: 38 hours per week, across a 7-day roster between 5:00am and 7:00pm.
  • Must be available to work on 2 weekends a month.

What you'll do:

  • Prepare, assemble and produce patient meals in accordance with dietary and food safety guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP and Downer Food Safety Plans through accurate documentation and monitoring
  • Maintain high hygiene standards across food storage, handling, and preparation areas
  • Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment, adhering to approved safety and cleaning procedures
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and uphold Downer's Zero Harm safety culture and core business standards

What you'll bring:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (essential); Food Safety and HACCP certifications (desirable)
  • Proven experience in a healthcare or hospital food service environment, including knowledge of texture modified diets
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety principles with demonstrated cooking expertise
  • Excellent time management, communication, and organisational skills
  • Team-focused, well-presented, and committed to continuous improvement and high service standards
