Hamelin Bay Wines is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to lead our kitchen operation at our stunning cellar door and restaurant in Karridale, Margaret River.

We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership of the kitchen and make it their own. Hamelin Bay Wines offers a rare opportunity for a chef to shape the food offering, influence the direction of the business, and create dishes they are genuinely passionate about cooking.

You'll get to work with local produce, develop seasonal menus, introduce your own ideas and specials, and build a food experience that complements our award-winning wines. We want a chef who is excited by the opportunity to leave their mark on the business and help drive the next chapter of our food offering.

About the Role

We are looking for a chef who can take ownership of the day-to-day kitchen operation, maintain high standards of food quality and presentation, and help continue the growth of our food offering.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Leading all kitchen operations and service

  • Maintaining consistent food quality and presentation standards

  • Managing kitchen preparation and service periods

  • Assisting with menu development and seasonal specials

  • Maintaining food safety and compliance standards

  • Managing stock control and ordering requirements

  • Working collaboratively with front-of-house and management teams

  • Leading, training and supporting kitchen staff where required

About You

You will be a motivated and reliable chef who takes pride in your work and enjoys creating exceptional experiences for guests.

You will possess:

  • Previous experience as a Chef, Sous Chef, Head Chef or Kitchen Lead

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of the kitchen

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic

  • A commitment to delivering high-quality food and customer experiences

  • A willingness to contribute ideas and continuously improve our offering
