We are a large modern licensed Club in the heart of the Toowoomba CBD. Members and guests to the region are drawn to our club, enjoying state-of-the-art amenities with a variety of beverage, dining and entertainment offerings all delivered with exceptional service.
We provide our members and guests with both a Restaurant and Café. We operate 7 days a week with food being a predominant driver of the business.
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Head Chef to lead our Team and manage the back of house operations of both our Club Restaurant and Café. Working with our Executive Chef you will ensure our team creates dishes of high quality, create exciting specials, and work for continuous improvement on our menus.
You will manage a team of Chefs, Cooks, Apprentice staff & kitchen hands and lead them with clear guidance and instruction to ensure quality meals and efficient and effective service.
This role would be perfect for an experienced Head Chef looking for a venue where they will be well supported. Or an Experienced Sous Chef looking to take their next career step
Essential Criteria:
A qualified Chef with Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery is required as the minimum qualification level
Minimum 2-3 years as a Head Chef or Sous chef with an excellent record in a busy environment
Ability to work in a high volume and past paced environment.
Demonstrated leadership skills - able to motivate and upskill a team.
Proven ability of kitchen management.
Outstanding communication and leadership skills
Up to date with culinary trends and kitchen processes
Outstanding knowledge of Food safety processes and obligations
Clear understanding of workplace health and safety
Permanent resident of Australia, or currently eligible/under application for permanent residency. Note: We are not seeking to enter a VISA sponsorship arrangement
You must be able to work a rotational roster; days, nights and weekends including public holidays.
Your responsibilities will include: -
Creating a work environment that promotes teamwork and recognition
Develop and maintain a good relationship with management and staff in all Club departments
Maintain high level food standards in line with the vision of the brand
Mentoring staff members and promoting staff succession planning
Place stock orders adhering to the confines of budget estimates
Handle food storage activities & ordering of goods
Maintain food and labour budgets
Produce staff rosters
Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities.
Assist with the construction of menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings.
Approve and "polish" dishes before they reach the customer.
Oversee the work of subordinates.
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
Work Health & Safety responsibilities.
Assist with customer food enquiries and in the case of any complaints work to swiftly rectify any problems in conjunction with Club management
