About the Role

The Head Chef/ Chef is a key role with responsibility for the efficient execution of all facility based catering whilst providing effective leadership of the kitchen and hospitality staff. The role involves managing all aspects of kitchen operations including budgets, staffing, menus and meal preparation.

This role has multiple positions available across WA, NSW, VIC, QLD and SA and the salary range is $70K to $80K per annum + Superannuation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Organize and implement food service
• Plan and implement daily food preparation lists for effective production
• Following all safe work procedure
• Implement and oversee the training of catering staff
• Is accountable and works closely with the facility manager on day-to-day activities.
• Ensures regulatory compliance in relation to Work Health and Safety, in accordance with Roshana Group’s safety policies and practices
• Acknowledges and communicates clearly too all service consumers, visitors, visiting medical officers, allied health professionals, and staff in order to provide a friendly welcoming environment.

Desirable Skills, Attributes and Experience

Essential

• At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in managing food preparation and cooking for large numbers of people.
• Strong knowledge and experience regarding culinary skills and relevant food trends.
• Strong previous experience in managing a kitchen and leading a team.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
• Sound written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to perform under a high pressure environment.
• Must hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Must hold a Food Safety Supervisors Certificate.
• Current National Police Certificate and assessment against requirements of the Aged Care Act.
• Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and serve a wide range of stakeholders and customers.
• Demonstrated proficiency in IT applications relevant to the role.
