 Role 

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable childcare early childhood Centre cook who wants to join our supportive team at our Chermside centre. In this role, you will work within our team of qualified early learning professionals to provide high-quality care for children, promote their learning and help them to develop key skills for the future. 

You will also plan seasonal menus, and prepare a wide variety of nutritious meals. Key duties in the cook position will also include managing stock, placing orders, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen in accordance with Food Safety and Council Authority requirements. 

This is a part-time position and applicants need to be willing to learn and contribute to a caring, play-based environment.

 Skills and Experience 

• Holds or is willing to enrol in Certificate III in Children's Services or equivalent

• Current Blue Card

• Current (or ability to obtain) First Aid, CPR & Asthma qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment

• Food preparation and cooking experience

• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is preferred but not required

• Experience in the childcare industry is preferred but not required
