We're Feedwell. We make thousands of fresh sandwiches, wraps and baguettes every day for workplaces like Google, Amazon, Canva and Louis Vuitton. Our early morning bread squad are the ones who make it happen.

We're after cooks and chefs who've had enough of the chaos and want something steadier.

Read this first. This shift starts at 1:30am.

Shifts run Monday to Friday, 1:30am to around 9:30am. No nights, no split shifts, no weekends, no roster that changes every week. Same start, same days, every week.

Who this is really for

A lot of good cooks and chefs reach a point where the job stops fitting their life. The hours move around. You're chasing a roster you can't plan around. You take the stress home. Maybe a new baby changed your priorities, or you just want to do good work and go home without carrying the whole kitchen on your back.

If that's you, this role is worth a look. It's calm, it's organised, and the hours don't move. You do solid work, you get treated well, and your afternoons are your own.

What you'll actually do

Be straight with yourself here. This is production work, not creative cooking.

  • Making sandwiches, wraps and baguettes at volume, to a standard, again and again

  • Assembling them to look right, every time

  • Cutting, packing and displaying the products neatly in our boxes

  • A final quality check on every order, including dietary labels, before it goes out

About half your shift is production, half is packing and checking. There's no menu to design, no service to plate, no hot line. If you need creativity to stay interested, this isn't your role. If you find a calm rhythm in doing good work well, you'll do great here.

To apply, you need to

  • Have at least 2 years' experience as a cook, chef, kitchen hand or in high-volume food production. We'll teach you the sandwich work

  • Be able to get into the Sydney CBD by 1:15am. Be honest with yourself: this start only works if your trip in takes under 35 minutes. If it's longer, the shift won't last for you, and we're after people who last

  • Be looking for this as your main job, not a second job on the side. We're after people who want to commit and grow with us, not fill in a gap

  • Have full Australian working rights

This role may not suit you if

  • You need variety and creativity to stay engaged

  • You're looking for a second income around other work

  • Your commute to the city is long

  • You want a fast track to running a kitchen. This is hands-on production, and we're proud of that
