Cook - OSHC Mother Teresa Catholic Primary School
In this role you will be responsible for providing healthy, fresh, diverse and wholesome menu catering for up to 180 children per day.
The right candidate will need to have:
Current Ochre Card
National Police Check
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or higher)
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
Qualifications in Safe Food Handling and Preparation
Able to design and implement seasonal, nutritionally balanced menus that align with ECEC guidelines (such as Australian Dietary Guidelines)
Can identify and strictly cater to children with allergies, food intolerances, and specific cultural or religious dietary requirements
Maintain a spotless, hygienic kitchen that meets local government health and food safety auditing standards. this includes properly storing food, rotating stock, and maintaining safety logs
Track ingredient stock, manage the kitchen budget, and order necessary food supplies in a cost-effective manner
Communicate with Centre Directors, educators, and families about menus and nutrition - cooks often assist educators in facilitating hands-on cooking experiences for the children
Excellent time management skills, be able to work to a schedule
Have good written, verbal communication skills and computer skills
Able to work with a diverse team
Have a great imagination, creative thinking and a can-do attitude
This is a part-time role working Monday-Friday, 25 hours a week.
The above position requires a commitment to working within the Catholic Ethos and building positive relationships with Students and staff.
