About the Role

Organica NSW is seeking a highly experienced Pastry Cook to join our team on a full-time basis. This hands-on role is central to our day-to-day pastry kitchen operations, requiring a skilled and dedicated professional with deep practical expertise, a passion for quality, and a commitment to excellence in every product produced.


Key Responsibilities

•        Prepare and produce a wide range of pastries, desserts, bread, and specialty baked goods to the highest quality standards

•        Execute established pastry and dessert menus with consistency and precision

•        Carry out day-to-day pastry kitchen tasks including baking, plating, and finishing

•        Assist in the preparation and presentation of pastry items for events and seasonal offerings

•        Support stock control, ingredient ordering, and waste minimisation under the direction of management

•        Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards throughout all stages of production

•        Mentor and assist junior kitchen staff, sharing techniques and upholding production standards

•        Collaborate with senior management to contribute ideas for menu updates and improvements


Skills & Experience Required

•        Diploma or higher qualification (mandatory minimum qualification)

•        Minimum 15 years of relevant hands-on experience as a Pastry Cook in a professional kitchen environment

•        Native English speaker or equivalent native-level proficiency in English (written and spoken)

•        Demonstrated expertise in artisan pastries, plated desserts, chocolate work, and specialty baked goods

•        Thorough understanding of food safety standards, HACCP principles, and kitchen compliance requirements

•        Proven ability to maintain high-quality output consistently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

•        Strong attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills

•        A collaborative team player with the ability to also work independently with minimal supervision
