Full Time Cook Position Available – Join Our Team!

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organise, prepare, and cook food

• Plan and develop menus

• Estimate food requirements, food and labour costs, and order supplies

• Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation

• Liaise with the Head Chef and kitchen and waiting staff on food preparation matters

• Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise on procedures

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to a high standard that meet dietary requirements

• Ensure strict compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations

• Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality

• Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment

• Manage food storage, including freezing and preservation

• Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes

• Assist with staff selection and training where required to other kitchen staff and apprentices

About You:

• Proven experience as a Cook or similar role

• Strong organisational and time-management skills

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Passion for quality food and continuous improvement

 

To be successful you must have:

• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training

OR

• AQF Certificate IV or higher plus one year of relevant work experience

OR

• At least three years of relevant experience in a similar position
