Kids Gourmet Food is a bulk catering/production business and the National leading provider of prepared meals to the childcare industry in Sydney, Brisbane & Melbourne. Our growing business is based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and we’re looking for a confident, hands-on culinary professional to lead one of our kitchen teams. In this pivotal role, you’ll own production quality, drive team performance, and keep the kitchen running like clockwork.

You will lead a team of 35 across two shifts, which run Monday to Friday from 6am to 2pm and 1pm to 9pm respectively. You will typically work from 9am to 5pm, with the flexibility to slide either way as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Production Oversight - Supervise production, ensuring every menu item meets recipe and quality standards with consistent, timely output.

Staff Leadership - Lead, motivate, and assign tasks to a team of 35 staff. Provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and ongoing performance feedback.

Quality & Food Safety - Conduct production quality checks and ensure all food handling complies with health, safety, and QA hygiene regulations.

Inventory & Ordering - Manage product ordering for the teams production, monitor stock levels, and minimise waste through smart planning.

Operational Efficiency - Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement improvements. Ensure equipment is used correctly and flag maintenance needs promptly.

Communication & Reporting - Deliver shift reports on production and staff. Bridge the morning and afternoon teams to ensure seamless operational continuity.

What You Will Bring:

·         Proven experience in a senior kitchen or supervisory role

·         Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent

·         Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and QA standards

·         Ability to lead and motivate a team under pressure

·         Excellent communication and shift handover skills

·         Sound understanding of inventory and wastage control

·         Flexible and solutions-focused
