About the role
Moon’s Fresh Sushi Woonona is searching for an experienced and talented Chef to join our exciting team in Woonona, NSW 2517. As a full-time Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious and innovative Japanese dishes that delight our customers. This is exciting opportunity to showcase your Culinary skills for Japanese dishes and contribute to the growth and success of our thriving Japanese restaurant.
What you will be doing
1. Oversee daily operations of the kitchen.
2. Supervise and coordinate all kitchen preparation and presentation.
3. Allocate shift and labour costs in discussions with Manager and/or director.
4. Ensure excellent quality throughout the dishes.
5. Create new and exciting dishes to renew menus and engage the interest of customers.
6. Check the dishes' quality before serving to ensure that the quality standards are met.
7. Prepare a wide variety of dishes following traditional and modern recipes.
8. Coordinates activities of cooks and other kitchen staff engaged in food preparation.
9. Determines how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays.
10. Monitors stocks for ingredients and makes appropriate orders within budget.
11. Checks the quality of raw materials and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.
12. Provide skills training to subordinate workers.
13. Guides and motivates the kitchen staff and cooks to work more efficiently.
14. Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
15. Ensures compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards.
Work Experience
Successful applicant must have at least 2 years part-time or full-time work experience preparing Japanese Dishes and completion or obtained by RPL, Diploma of Hospitality Management is preferred.
