We’re looking for a capable short order cook to take ownership of our small, focused kitchen in Zillmere. If you’re confident running a solo kitchen, love working mornings, and want a role with both chill energy and bursts of pace — we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

• You’ll be the driving force behind the kitchen at Cafe Fifty Nine — handling everything from prep to service in a relaxed, supportive setting.

• You’ll be responsible for:

• Cooking a simple menu to order

• Maintaining a clean, organised, and food-safe kitchen

• Managing stock rotation (FIFO) and ordering supplies (milk, dry goods, etc.)

• Contributing to occasional specials or menu development

• Collaborating with front-of-house staff to keep service smooth and efficient

About You

• Has experience in a short order or café-style kitchen

• Understands kitchen flow, prep, and safe food handling

• Is confident working independently in a solo kitchen

• Holds a valid Food Safety Certification

• Has basic knowledge of stock control and FIFO systems

• Can stay cool and focused during peak periods
