The Tropic of Capricorn is one of Alice Springs' newest hospitality venues, opening just a few months ago and already building a reputation for great food, cold drinks and relaxed beer garden vibes.
We're looking for an experienced Cook or Chef to join our growing kitchen team and help shape the next chapter of the venue.
Our menu focuses on woodfired pizzas, modern Australian dishes, elevated pub classics and share-style plates, all designed to be enjoyed alongside good company, live music and Central Australia's stunning sunsets.
You might be the right fit if you:
Have experience working in a busy kitchen
Take pride in producing quality food every service
Stay calm, organized and efficient under pressure
Work well as part of a team and communicate effectively
Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
Bring creativity and initiative to menu development and specials
Experience with woodfired pizzas and ovens is a big plus but not not essential
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and cooking menu items to a high standard
Assisting with lunch and dinner service
Food preparation and stock rotation
Maintaining food safety and kitchen cleanliness standards
Assisting with ordering and stock control
Contributing ideas for specials and menu improvements
Supporting the wider kitchen team to deliver consistent, quality service
