Commis Chef - The Gibson

Are you ready to play? Join our team as a full time Commis Chef at The Gibson (The Gibson, 352 Stafford Rd, Stafford QLD 4053).

The Commis Chef reports to the Head Chef and is responsible for assisting chefs to provide the finest quality product which is presented in a timely and efficient manner and at all times maintaining a clean and hygienic workstation. Expand your knowledge on dishes working under our Head Chef, meet new people and join our new Culinary team and contribute to our opening success.

A few of your responsibilities will include:

• Assist Head Chef and other culinary team to ensure all meals are served at appropriate times
• Maintain and re-order stock as required
• Ensure all routines are followed in accordance with company policy and procedures
• Strive to minimise food wastage

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous.
• Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are a plus.
• Basic knowledge of cooking methods, food safety, and kitchen equipment.
• Proficient in managing competing priorities and working to deadlines.
• Foundational interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of venue and / or events management and hospitality.

You will be an experienced Commis Chef with prior experience in assisting a chef in a fast-paced environment. You will be passionate about food and providing a mouth-watering experience for our guests and contributing to fun and collaborative team environment.

Your role will be a valued addition to our team at The Gibson, and critical to meeting our guest expectations daily.

The salary for this position will range between $75,000 - $85,000.
