About the role

As the Head Chef at Casa nova Italian', you will be responsible for leading and inspiring our kitchen team to deliver exceptional Italian cuisine to our valued customers. In this full-time role located in Sydney, NSW 2000, you will be the driving force behind our culinary vision, ensuring consistently high standards and innovative menu development.

What you'll be doing

1. Oversee all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, inventory management, and staff supervision

2. Develop and refine authentic Italian recipes that showcase the finest seasonal ingredients

3. Foster a positive and productive work environment, leading and mentoring the kitchen team

4. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations

5. Collaborate with the management team to drive continuous improvement and business growth

6. Monitor food and labour costs, optimising efficiency and profitability

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Head Chef or equivalent role in a high-volume, upscale Italian or Mediterranean restaurant

2. Proven track record of leading and developing a talented kitchen brigade

3. Extensive knowledge of Italian cuisine, ingredients, and culinary techniques

4. Excellent time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills

5. Strong budgeting and inventory management capabilities

6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

7. Passion for creating innovative, flavourful dishes that delight customers
