Head Chef | Monty's Restaurant & Bar, Orange NSW

Monty's is a brand new venue in the Orange CBD, built around great produce, good energy, and a dining experience that feels considered without being overdone. We're looking for a Head Chef to lead it from the front.

This is for someone who cares about food, but also about how a kitchen runs, how a team feels, and how a venue comes to life day in, day out.

The Role

You'll take full ownership of the kitchen, from the menu to the team to the numbers. This isn't a "stay in your lane" kind of role. You'll be part of shaping what Monty's is from day one.

You'll be responsible for:

• Building a seasonal, produce-driven menu that fits the Monty's style. Thoughtful, generous, and not overcomplicated

• Leading and developing a strong kitchen team, no passengers

• Running a clean, organised, high-performing kitchen

• Managing food costs, GP, and wastage without killing the creativity

• Working closely with front of house to make sure the whole experience lands

• Building relationships with local suppliers and backing the region where it makes sense

• Setting the standard, every service, every plate

About You

You've done this before, and you're ready to do it properly.

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous ready to step up

• Strong understanding of seasonal cooking and produce-led menus

• You run a tight kitchen, systems, structure, and standards matter to you

• You know your numbers and you don't ignore them

• You lead from the front, calm, direct, and consistent

• You care about the team you're building
