About the role:

What you see is what you get. Literally. By design, our kitchen is an integral part of the club space. Open to view, join our Head Chef and his expert team in crafting mouth-watering dishes using only the finest, freshest ingredients, locally sourced where possible, with a sustainable ethos and handled with care.

With great food in Norths Pantry, sophisticated friendly bar areas, modernised auditorium and function spaces, we have rewritten what a Club is all about by creating spaces that are vibrant, contemporary and inviting.

We are looking for that exceptional someone who will have a passion in delivering high quality food to our diners and who will be able to work in a fast-paced and team-orientated work environment. You will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting a variety of high quality dishes, contributing new ideas to the menu, ensuring that stock rotation is efficiently managed, maintaining clean and orderly work spaces, and monitoring portion and quality control.

Joining Norths Cammeray means you are part of Norths Collective which includes The Greens North Sydney, The Alcott Lane Cove, The Verandah Beecroft and Seagulls Tweed Heads.

Your Key Priorities will be to:

  • Overseeing the preparation, cooking and presentation of food
  • Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef where required
  • Financial performance by maintaining proper portion and stock control to keep food costs down
  • Creating tasting menus notes to provide to floor staff when changing the menu
  • Maintaining clean and orderly workspaces
  • Hygiene and food safety of the highest level in accordance with food safety guidelines and Club policies and procedures
  • Actively driving and supporting a range of Work, Health and Safety Compliance activities
  • Directing and supporting those in your team
  • Training of junior kitchen team members demonstrated through policies and procedures and all training courses offered by Norths Collective
  • Maintain effective communication with all key stakeholders


The Candidate:

  • Experience in working under pressure in a fast paced and high volume kitchen
  • Understanding strict health and hygiene standards and Workplace Health & Safety legislatio
  • Experience in food quality control
  • Be HACCP accredited
  • Current Food Safety Supervisor certificate or willing to obtain
  • Chef Trade qualifications
  • Be a multi-functional chef with an interest in expanding your cooking career
  • Passionate about producing great tasting, looking quality food
  • Capability to work a rotating roster that includes days, nights, weekends and public holidays.
