This long-established family business, located opposite the Sky City Casino and Convention Centre and an easy 5-minute walk to the Adelaide Oval and Riverbank is quite literally in the heart of the action.

The hotel first floor features Verandah Bar and Dining, the ultimate indoor/ outdoor entertainment space, along with Café One 2 Nine and Garden Bar on the ground floor. 

Due to an internal restructure after recent growth, we are seeking an Industry professional who is passionate about food and a hands on   ‘can do’ approach to a superior customer experience.

The successful candidate will love what they do and demonstrate the following:


Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Head Chef will be responsible for

  1. Running of the kitchen in partnership with  the Executive Chef, ensuring quality and service standards are maintained

  2. Assist with creatively designing menus 

  3. Be across Modern food trends

  4. Lead and inspire a reliable kitchen team capable of servicing high-volume and various service periods and to achieve excellence and consistent high-quality meals

  5. Assist in the management of food and labour costs, and develop strategies and systems to reduce costs and wastage

  6. Manage and maintain a clean, safe and hygiene kitchen environment

  7. Liaise with front of house to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of each service

The Successful Candidate

You will possess:

  1. Experience working within a team 

  2. Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate the team

  3. Experience in a diverse range of cuisines.

  4. Knowledge, implementation, and upkeep of workplace health & safety procedures

  5. A genuine passion for creating and delivering enticing food consistently

  6. Meticulous attention to detail

  7. Motivation for self-improvement, growth, and excellence within the industry
