Head Cook / Kitchen Manager

Bellbowrie Sports and Community Club (BSCC)

Bellbowrie Sports and Community Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Head Cook to lead our kitchen operations and deliver quality meals to our members, sporting clubs, and local community.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional who enjoys working in a community-focused environment and takes pride in delivering great food, maintaining high standards, and leading a small kitchen team.

About the Role

As Head Cook, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, including food preparation, menu execution, stock control, food safety compliance, and kitchen leadership.

You will work closely with Club management to ensure members and guests enjoy a consistent, high-quality dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present quality meals in a timely manner

  • Manage day-to-day kitchen operations

  • Maintain food safety and hygiene standards

  • Manage stock ordering, stock rotation and inventory control

  • Minimise food wastage and monitor kitchen costs

  • Develop and review menus and specials

  • Lead, train and support kitchen staff

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant food handling and workplace health and safety requirements

  • Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Head Cook, Sous Chef or Senior Cook

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Ability to lead and motivate a small team

  • Sound knowledge of food safety requirements and kitchen operations

  • Experience managing stock, ordering and cost control

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and during peak sporting periods

  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic

Essential Requirements

  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or ability to obtain)

  • Relevant hospitality qualifications and/or significant industry experience

  • Current work rights in Australia
