About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Chef Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a busy aged care kitchen. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring high-quality meal service, strong food safety compliance and effective kitchen team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with set menus

  • Ensure meals are presented to a high standard with consistent quality

  • Communicate effectively with site leadership and care staff

  • Supervise, support and direct kitchen employees

  • Maintain safe food handling and hygiene standards

  • Complete all required food safety documentation accurately

  • Monitor resident feedback and support continuous improvement

  • Manage stock control, ordering and budget requirements

  • Assist with kitchen rosters and shift coverage

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

  • Previous experience in aged care highly regarded

  • Experience with Middle Eastern style cooking

  • Strong understanding of food safety and compliance requirements

  • Basic computer skills including Outlook and ordering systems

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
