About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Chef Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a busy aged care kitchen. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring high-quality meal service, strong food safety compliance and effective kitchen team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with set menus
Ensure meals are presented to a high standard with consistent quality
Communicate effectively with site leadership and care staff
Supervise, support and direct kitchen employees
Maintain safe food handling and hygiene standards
Complete all required food safety documentation accurately
Monitor resident feedback and support continuous improvement
Manage stock control, ordering and budget requirements
Assist with kitchen rosters and shift coverage
Skills & Experience
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
Previous experience in aged care highly regarded
Experience with Middle Eastern style cooking
Strong understanding of food safety and compliance requirements
Basic computer skills including Outlook and ordering systems
Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
