Chef

The NATIONAL HOTEL is a proudly family owned hospitality business based in Geelong, Victoria. Whether it's relaxing by the fire in our Dining Room, a meeting with work colleagues on the Rooftop Terrace, or good times with friends in the Public Bar - the National Hotel is focussed providing quality food, great service and a welcoming "old school pub" experience for local patrons and visitors to our region. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a skilled and reliable Chef to lead our kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning all food menus (incl. function packages) in consultation with the General Manager and Business Owners;

Managing kitchen rostering, ordering, food preparation and safe storage practices;

Training and supervision of all casual kitchen staff;

Working closely with the General Manager and Business Owner to meet revenue goals and COGS objectives; and

Maintaining kitchen cleanliness, maintenance and food safety requirements.

Skills and Experience:

Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.

Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery is required.

Minimum of 3+ years of kitchen management experience in a hospitality venue kitchen environment is required.

Previous experience in a pub or similar hospitality setting is preferred.

Ability to prepare and cook a variety of dishes in a fast-paced kitchen.

Sound understanding of food preparation, cooking procedures, and safe food handling practices.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining food quality and consistency.

Good organisational and time-management skills.

Reliable, hardworking and able to work well in a team.
