PASTRY & COLD LARDER CHEF | PART TIME

Liar Liar - Modern Japanese
Braeside, Melbourne VIC

We are looking for an organised, creative and highly motivated Pastry & Cold Larder Chef to join our brand new state of the art kitchen.

This role is ideal for a chef who enjoys precision, presentation and creativity, with responsibility across both dessert production and cold kitchen preparation.

At Liar Liar, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional food experiences while helping develop new menu items and maintaining the highest kitchen standards.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

Pastry

  • Preparation and service of all desserts

  • Dessert plating and presentation during service

  • Production of our specialty desserts designed by our Sous Chef

  • Recipe development and seasonal menu changes

  • Managing dessert mise en place and stock levels

Cold Larder

  • Preparation of cold starters and shared plates

  • Garnishes, salads and cold accompaniments

  • Function canapés and event preparation

  • Sauce, dressing and garnish production

  • Maintaining presentation standards across all cold dishes

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a Pastry, Larder or Qualified Chef position

  • Strong attention to detail and presentation

  • Ability to work cleanly and efficiently under pressure

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Understanding of food safety and HACCP procedures

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment

  • Passion for hospitality and delivering quality food

  • Availability to work nights and weekends
