The JDA Collective group is a family owned business and resides over fourteen (14) hospitality venues throughout Sydney, Queensland and Victoria, who prides itself in offering 'the premium pub experience' and is an award-winning Hotel group.
JDA Collective has an exciting opportunity available for a Chef/Cook (Grade 3) at their establishment in Queensland – Mermaid Beach Tavern. This venue offers outstanding quality pub food, a wide selection of beverages/cocktails and entertainment activities.
About the role
The position vacant will involve the preparation and cooking of top quality pub dishes under the Head Chefs direction and high standards. The Mermaid Beach Tavern's kitchen will run a 6-9 Chef kitchen and all roles will require solid working knowledge of Modern Australian cuisine as well as previous experience gained in successful, high turnover restaurants or bistros. The position on offer is permanent, working to a roster which will include nights and weekends.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing, cooking, plating and presentation of high standard dishes
Keeping your kitchen section organised and clean
Maintaining stock and ordering
Ensuring the Bistro's high standards are maintained
Mentoring junior members of the team.

The successful candidate will have the following:
Must be trade qualified and hold certification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III minimum or equivalent).
Will have minimum two (2) year post qualified experience.
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure.
Possess attention to detail, particularly with regard to plating
Creative and passionate about food and providing high standards of food service.
A genuine passion for food and strong interest in the Hospitality industry.
Good communication skills, positive attitude and be professionally presented at all times.
Flexible and available to work nights, weekends, public holidays
Available for an immediate start.
