As a Demi Chef, you will support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations while ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. This is a great opportunity for a motivated culinary professional looking to advance their career.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items to high standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your work station
Ensure food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards are followed at all times
Support stock control, ordering, and minimisation of wastage
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team during service
Step up in the absence of senior chefs when required
Previous experience in a similar role or as a Commis Chef
Relevant culinary qualification (Cert III/IV in Commercial Cookery preferred)
Experience with fine-dining presentation and cooking styles, across all sections (cold larder, pans, fryer).
Experience working in a HACCP environment, with strong understanding of food safety compliance.
Ability to adhere to portion control, food waste, and production procedures.
Strong attention to detail and passion for food
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Team player with excellent communication skills
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
