Casual Position with Opportunity to Transition to Permanent Part-Time

Are you a passionate Chef looking for weekend work where you can make a real difference?

Kurrajong Nursing Home is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Weekend Chef to join our friendly Food Services team.

Position Details

  • Hours: Saturday and Sunday, 6:00am – 2:00pm

  • Opportunity for additional shifts to cover annual leave and staff absences

  • Supportive team environment

  • Work-life balance with early afternoon finishes

About the Role

As our Weekend Chef, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, home-style meals for our residents while maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and presentation.

You will work closely with our Food Services team to ensure residents receive meals that are enjoyable, safe, and tailored to their individual needs.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Chef (aged care, hospitality, healthcare, or commercial kitchens)

  • Ability to work independently and manage a busy kitchen

  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

  • A positive attitude and commitment to quality service

  • Reliable, punctual, and well-presented

  • Current Food Safety knowledge and relevant qualifications

  • Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle (essential)

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in aged care or healthcare catering

  • Knowledge of texture-modified diets and special dietary requirements

  • Experience working within a team-focused environment
