The Baths Middle Brighton is a multi-faceted facility (Downstairs Dining, Upstairs Event Space, Health Club and Fish & Chip Shop) located on the Waterfront in Brighton with beachfront ocean and city views.
Downstairs at The Baths offers casual all-day dining, both indoor and outdoor. Upstairs at The Baths presents a unique event space where we host an array of celebrations with a capacity of 120 seated and 200 cocktail style, the versatile venue can also host smaller functions for group dining.
About the Role:
We are looking for a qualified, passionate, and committed person to take on the Full-Time role of Sous Chef.
Qualifications & experience
Formal trade qualifications in commercial cooking or equivalent experience
Past experience in fast paced high-volume kitchens
Previous experience with exclusive functions or private dining is preferred but not essential
At least 2 years experience in restaurant and bistro cooking would be beneficial, in a similar role
Tasks & responsibilities
Encourage a positive learning and supportive team culture with a high degree of professionalism
Excellent food hygiene and occupational Health & Safety standards
Work well within a team. You will be involved in all aspects of the kitchen from food preparation, cooking, training other staff
A quick thinking ability to be able to perform numerous tasks in a fast paced environment.
The ability to take on new ideas and think "outside of the box"
Ability to lead the pass
Ability to prep and organise ahead and the ability to work well under pressure
Good interpersonal communication skills
