Most positions start as Casual but can lead to Full-Time.      

 

All people shortlisted for roles must:

• be willing to undertake employment medicals and drug and alcohol tests.

• be willing to get a National Police Certificate for Employment.

• be physically capable of doing the job safely that you apply for.

• have a minimum of 2 employment referees (past managers/ supervisors).

 

 

Bar Attendants/ Mixologists

• RSA certificate (QLD)

• RSG certificate (QLD) - or must have within 2 weeks of commencing

• DoFoodSafely certificate (free online training: http://dofoodsafely.health.vic.gov.au/en/ )

• Excellent customer service

• Broad bar product knowledge of beers, draft beer, pre-mix drinks, basic wine knowledge, cocktails

• Have Keno experience or willing to learn

 

Gaming & Bar Attendants

• Items in the Bar Attendant above plus:

• Gaming Machine Attendant experience

TAB & Bar Attendants

• Items in the Bar Attendant above plus:

• Prior TAB experience

• TAB Compliance or willing to renew

 

Duty Managers / Assistant Duty Managers

• Need to have all the Gaming, TAB & Bar Attendant items plus:

• 5+ years Hospitality or Retail experience

• 1+ years Supervisory experience

• Solid problem-solving skills and a can-do approach

• Classes themselves as a customer service legend

• RMLV– current or willingness to re-certify

• Approved Manager license

• Not afraid of computers

• Current Drivers’ License (with a safe driving history)

 

Food and Beverage / Functions Attendants

• Experienced in Bistro/ Restaurant/ Functions/ Cafe food service

• DoFoodSafely certificate (free online training: http://dofoodsafely.health.vic.gov.au/en/ )

• Basic bar skills (or willingness to learn)

• RSA (or willingness to obtain within 2 weeks of commencement)

• Willing to learn coffee making

 

Barista (Coffee Making Legend)

• Solid coffee making skills

• DoFoodSafely certificate (free online training: http://dofoodsafely.health.vic.gov.au/en/ )

• Basic bar skills (or willingness to learn)

• RSA (or willingness to obtain within 2 weeks of commencing)

 

Bottleshop Attendants

• Solid Beverage knowledge (knowledge about wines, beers, spirits, mixes)

• Bar / Retail experience

• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) or willingness to obtain before you start

• Current Drivers’ License (with a safe driving history)

• Must be very physically fit and able to lift 15+kg safely – lots of lifting in this job

• Nice to have - Forklift license

 

Kitchen Hands

• Physically fit and willing to work hard scrubbing pots and pans – hot wet work

• DoFoodSafely certificate (free online training: http://dofoodsafely.health.vic.gov.au/en/ )

• Not allergies or aversions to touching foods (ie. flour, raw meats, etc)

• No cleaning chemical allergies

 

Chefs & Cooks (Above Award Pay. Can be Full-time or Casual – your choice)

• Need to have all the Kitchen Hands items above plus:

• Trade Certificate (for Chefs)

• DoFoodSafely certificate (free online training: http://dofoodsafely.health.vic.gov.au/en/ )

• Experience in working in fast paced high-volume kitchens

 

Cleaners / Room Attendants

• Need to be physically fit – this is hard work.

• Able to move tables and chairs to set-up for functions

• (Room Attendant roles only available at Carriers Arms - Maryborough)

 

REMUNERATION

Persal Hotels pay all Award loadings and penalties that our team are entitled to.
