JOB OVERVIEW

Diamond Gecko Pty Ltd T/A Round the Corner Bar & Grill is a family business that is located in Belmont and we are looking for a fulltime Chef to join our expanding team that has that little bit of flare and a fun attitude.

This job is a fulltime position working a variety of days, night and weekends.

You will be responsible for handling all food-related concerns and taking care of all food preparation needs at the venue. You may be required to cook, bake and prepare predetermined menu items on a daily basis, or they may be asked to come up with new menu ideas and develop delicious dishes.

You will be responsible for studying recipes, helping in setting up menus and preparing high-quality dishes.

You should be able to work well and keep your cool in a fast-paced work environment and follow instructions from the hierarchy to the best of your ability.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (Not limited to)

·         Setting up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and food scales

·         Studying each recipe and gathering all necessary ingredients

·         Cooking food in a timely manner

·         Ensure appealing plate presentation

·         Supervise Chefs, Cooks and Apprentice Chefs and assist as needed

·         Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)

·         Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs and ordering food supplies

·         Monitoring quality of diches art all stages of preparation and presentation

·         Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff

·         Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures

·         Preparing and cooking food

·         Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations

·         Help in the hiring and training of staff

·         Help with Food Preservation ie Freezing and preserving food techniques

QUALIFICATIONS & CRITERIA

At least 2 to 3 years of relevant Work Experience.

Must have a Drivers Licence

 

RENUMERATION

 

Salary will be between $78,500 - $81,000 depending on your skill set (plus super).
