Since opening in the centre of Ballarat’s hospitality district 20 years ago, we’ve taken our passion for great service and quality food to build Oscars into a busy, vibrant hotel.
Our family run hotel is excited to expand our team & currently have cook and chef roles available offering Part Time positions with hours ranging from 15-25 hours per week with the option for Full Time available for the right candidate.
We offer flexible hours which can work around study, sport and family commitments with shifts ranging from weekends, evenings or weekday’s work for suitable candidates.

Flexible rosters/hours: Our kitchen requires cooks and chefs for various shifts across the week, our rostering system is flexible depending on what position you undertake.
Supportive Kitchen: Our kitchen is staffed with a great team of dedicated cooks, chefs, pastry chefs and kitchen hands throughout every service to assist to make sure everyone can work to the best of their strengths and abilities.
Opportunities to grow: Opportunities available to expand into senior/sous chef role for candidates who can demonstrate a strong sense of teamwork and leadership.

Work well in a team environment
Excel when under pressure
Demonstrate good time management skills
Multitask through busy service times
Create or share input on new dishes to feature on our weekly specials
The successful candidate will have:
Cert III in commercial cookery
Have a passion towards food and local produce
Good knowledge of HACCP
Solid background in one of the following: bistro, restaurants or functions
